WELCOME TO SUNDAY SCHOOL AT FIRST LUTHERAN!

We are very eager about the upcoming Sunday School year at First Lutheran Church.

We have lots of exciting changes being made and wanted to fill you in on the details!

To register your child, click the following link! Click here for a registration form!

When is Sunday School?

Sunday School begins September 11, 2011 with Rally Sunday and occurs  Sunday mornings through May 20th, 2012, from 9:40 am to 10:20 am between worship services during education hour

Classes are offered for ages 4 year old through adult.

We encourage parents to worship with their children at either 8:30 or 10:30 am.

How do I register?

Sunday School is the core of Children’s Ministry at First  Lutheran.  It is important to register  children from 4 year old to Grade 6 for Sunday School with the registration form.  We will send out postcard reminders prior to the start of Sunday School and for Rally Sunday.

Children are welcome to join a Sunday School class at any time during the year.  Stop by the main office during the week or at the Sunday School Superintendent’s office on Sundays for class placement.

We welcome non-First Lutheran members to Sunday School.  Register at the main office during the week or at the Sunday School Superintendent’s office on Sundays.

    CHILDREN'S OFFERINGS

    ELCA MALARIA CAMPAIGN

    (FALL SEMESTER)

Many families who live in Africa are very poor.  They do not have clean water, good food, or medicine to keep them healthy.  They can't afford to buy bed nets to protect themselves from mosquitoes.  Mosquitoes can transmit the disease Malaria to humans.  Together, every time we give $10 we can buy a bed net for a family in Africa.

Children's offering will be collected during the Sunday School time and recorded for this mission throughout the fall semester.

    MISSION: PROJECT HEIFER

    (SPRING SEMESTER)

Working with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth

Hope.  When people ask Gyandhari, a native of Nepal, what Heifer International means to her, she smiles and says, “Hope.”  A few years ago, she could not write her own name.  She was not alone- 86% of the women in Nepal are illiterate.  Determined to feed her family and educate her children, she banded together with neighboring women.  They decided to buy goats, but without collateral- their husbands owned everything- no bank would give them a loan.  Then the women learned of Heifer International.

For over 60 years, Heifer has committed efforts to alleviating hunger and poverty and caring for the Earth.  Since that time, Heifer has been in over 125 countries helping over 8 million families toward self-reliance.

Children's offering will be collected during the Sunday School time and recorded for this mission throughout the spring semester.
