The Food Pantry was founded in 1996 to provide food, personal care, and household supplies to a growing number of people in the community who lacked these resources. The pantry currently serves about 150 families a week, from a wide range of counties and communities across northeastern Iowa.
The Food Pantry is located next to the Fireside Room of First Lutheran Church. It is open to anyone who requests its services. Clients will be asked for their name, address, identification, and number of members in their family. No other documentation is necessary.
The Food pantry is an Iowa non-profit corporation (501c3).

HOW TO GIVE
Monetary donations: If you are uncertain what to donate to the Food Pantry, monetary donations are welcome. Donations can be used to purchase items through the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and [local] stores. As we purchase food items in bulk at a decreased rate, monetary donations can make a greater impact than donating individual items. Checks may be made out to the Food Pantry at FLC and mailed to 604 W. Broadway St, Decorah IA, 52101.
Coupons: Donating coupons can save significant cash when purchases are made with donated coupons.
Prayers: Pray for the ministry of the Food Pantry at First Lutheran Church and for those who benefit from it. Ask the Lord for insight into how we might be part of the solution to the problem of increasing hunger in the world, including Iowa.
